Hello my name is Rich Thomas and welcome to my blog. I'm currently working for a gardening/ junk removal company based in clifton, bristol called Junkaway. This has been suprisingly helpful in increasing my network. I will be adding to this blog regularly to keep track of my progress on the foundation degree in broadcasting media. I have just completed a Btec national diploma in music practice at weston college and this has led me towards this course. it gave me valuable skills in using audio recording and editing software and hardware. I started out as a preforming musician, playing in several bands most noteably Mackz and Ripp in which i played the bass but over the length of the course took a keen interest and moved towards the more technological side of media. Within the Btec many of the assignments were focused around multimedia as opposed to just audio. For example i had to create music for film and also add sound effects to movie clips. I had a great time completing these and it really pushed my interests further towards media. In particular the use of audio in film and television.

Good to see your blog entries starting with 4 links although the first one is not working. Check this. Don't forget the need to add in photos, logos, videos, quotes and your own comment on your experience of the course in various roles such as researcher, interviewer, sound recordist. Have a look at the other blogs from present and past students to get an idea of the variety of content required.
Hi Rich, I'm worried that tee is only one post and we are now in December. I hope you have been writing them up in word as we have gone through the course as the requirement is to have a blog that is recently updated. I know you did have problems with access to a computer out side college. There is a minimum requirement of 9 entries. The deadline for the last blog entry is 8th January 2009.
